The Origin Story

from founder Michelle Brink

Satori is more than a place — it’s an invitation. In the quiet beyond the noise of life, Satori offers a return to stillness, presence, and connection. Rooted in the belief that sound, movement, and breath has the power to restore balance, Satori was created to hold space for anyone seeking peace within.

Personal
search for stillness and acceptance

In the quiet moments after the overwhelm In the spaces between trying to hold it all together

That’s where Satori was born.

My name is Mich. I am the founder of Satori, a sound healing practice rooted in Plettenberg Bay on South Africa’s Garden Route. But before Satori became a sanctuary for others, it was a lifeline for me.

The Birth of Satori

Like many, I reached a point in life where the stress was too loud, the pace too fast, and the expectations too heavy. I found myself longing to understand my body better – to feel, to release, and to reset. Not just physically, but emotionally and energetically.

Sound became my medicine.

What began as curiosity quickly transformed into a path of deep discovery. I immersed myself in the study of sound, its effects on the nervous system, its power to shift emotional states, its ability to bring us back to ourselves.

But more than that, I experienced healing first-hand.
It was in the resonance of bowls, the rhythm of drums, the shimmer of chimes, that I began to remember who I was beneath the stress, beneath the roles, beneath the noise.

And that moment of deep recognition…

That moment of truth…

Was my Satori.

I created Satori not just as a sound healing offering, but as an invitation
For you to pause, To listen inward

To reconnect with the part of you that knows peace is possible.

I am a certified sound healer, but more than qualifications, what I bring is compassion, lived experience, and a deep love for this work.
Each session is a reflection of that intention.

What is Satori?

Satori means “a sudden awakening” or “a glimpse of enlightenment.”

It is the moment when the mind becomes still,
clarity returns,
and peace takes its place.
That moment is what I hope to offer through every sound bath session.

Satori is more than a name, it’s an invitation to come home to yourself. This word encapsulated everything I felt in my own healing journey… and everything I want to offer others.

what to expect

Each sound bath is unique, supporting your intentions and allowing yourself to reset.

When you arrive, you’ll be invited to settle into a comfortable space surrounded by soft lighting, gentle scents, and grounding energy. The session begins with a few moments of breath and presence.

As the sound bath unfolds, tones from crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, gong, flute, chimes, and drum weave through the space. Each frequency gently interacts with your body’s own vibration, helping to release tension, quiet the mind, and restore natural balance.

The sounds guide you into a meditative state where your parasympathetic nervous system – the “rest and restore” response, activates. You may feel waves of relaxation, warmth, tingling, or emotional release as your system recalibrates to harmony.

After the last note fades, there’s a short period of silence for grounding and reflection. This moment allows your body to absorb the experience – a sacred pause before slowly returning to full awareness.

Many leave feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply calm. The effects can continue for hours or even days as your energy rebalances. It’s recommended to drink plenty of water, move gently, and allow quiet time for integration.
